Small Annual & Clock Grants
Almost £17,000 has been distributed to 57 community groups across the Parish. The grant is available to cover the cost of anything needed to help run the organisation. Forms for next year's grants will be available in September.

Thursday 21 November 7.30 pm - Grants & Community Projects Committee Meeting
Thursday 5 December 7.30 pm - Parish Council Meeting

All meetings will be held at Burton Village Hall, except where indicated otherwise.  Members of the public are welcome to attend.

There will be a public participation session at the beginning of all Council and Committee meetings, when people can speak for up to 3 minutes on any issue which falls within the Council's / Committee's remit, with the total session lasting a maximum of 15 minutes  All meetings are open to the public, although contributions from the public are restricted to the Public Participation session.

However, sometimes items need to be taken in private if the discussion involves disclosure of personal information or details of a future contract.  The decisions taken in private sessions are public knowledge and will be included in the minutes.

The agenda will be available from the Meetings Page about a week beforehand.

Chairman 2024-25


Cllr Derek Hardcastle has been elected as this year's Chairman for the second time.  He has been on the Council since 2003 and represents Kirkburton.

Derek has been a member of all of the Council's committees and has a particular interest in the environment.  He is keen to support the many community groups which operate across the Parish.  If you would like to invite him to an event you are organising, please contact the Clerk, preferably by email.  

He will attend if he can, and if not, the Vice Chairman will attend.

Cllr John Cowan has been elected to the role of Vice Chairman.  John represents the Shepley ward and has been a Councillor since 2015, serving as Chairman on one previous occasion.  He is currently also helping out as Temporary Clerk.
