Calendar of Community Events

All community groups and 'not for profit' organisations throughout the Parish are welcome to submit information regarding their forthcoming events, and we will be pleased to include them on the list below free of charge.  Please allow 7 days before the event, if possible.  We will also display any information notices. However, we cannot display notices of a commercial or political nature.

Yetton Hub Speaker Evening : "I'm not a Pair of Curtains" : 14 August at Kirkheaton Community Centre at 7.30 pm : £2.50 pay on the door.

Drama for 10 - 14 year olds : 20 August at Kirkheaton Community Centre
4.45 - 5.45 pm. Cost: £5.

Kirkburton Library - Children's Activity : Pieces of History : 21 August from 10.30 am to 12 noon
Is it a grenade? Is it a cannon ball? What about the brick? Enjoy guessing the objects, dressing up in authentic uniforms and hearing the fascinating stories behind them. Suitable for families and children of 7 years and above. Free event, but tickets are needed.  Get yours from:

Kirkburton Library - Children's Activity : Mischief Lab : 22 August from 2 to 4 pm
Experiments designed to cause mischief.  Unfortunately this activity is sold out.

Thorncliffe Gala : 26 August at Thorncliffe Working Men's Club in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance
There will be cake, book and tombola stalls. All donations are gratefully accepted. All profits will go to the charity. Everyone welcome!  Please address any queries to the Club via their Facebook page.

Last Night of the Proms by the Skelmanthorpe Band and Male Voice Choir with Jane Hobson on 8 September at Emmanuel Church in Shelley.
Entry by ticket only, price £15 from Church Members or Lydgate Styles.

Clifton Hand Bell Ringers will perform on 15 September from 2-3pm in Shelley Emmanuel Church as part of the Heritage Day celebrations
The Church will be open from 10 am with lots of activities for all ages. Everyone welcome.
